Physical therapists are educated in the care of musculoskeletal conditions. Their hands-on approach begins with the treatment of a patient’s immediate problem. They teach patients how to care for themselves by prescribing specialized programs to address the impairments that lead to the functional loss.
Our physical therapists are committed to the delivery of quality care. The physical therapy team works together with each patient and family to reduce and resolve physical impairments, improve functional mobility and return each patient to a greater level of independence at home and in the community.

Our occupational therapy staff strives to help individuals become as self-sufficient as possible in the activities of daily life. Occupational therapists work closely with patients and their physicians to establish realistic goals and help them lead productive, independent and satisfying lives.

Our dedicated speech/language pathologists can evaluate and treat a wide range of communication and swallowing problems. Our team can help patients recover from stroke or neurological disorders by addressing the skills needed for functional language, cognitive and dysphagia (swallowing) skills.
Difficulty with speech or swallowing affects people of many ages for a variety of reasons. The causes may include disease, injury or genetic factors. Regardless of the cause, speech or swallowing problems can make life difficult. Our Speech and Language Rehabilitation program uses current technology to improve speech, language and swallowing dysfunctions.
A recent addition to current treatments offered in the speech field is VitalStim. This FDA-approved procedure is only offered by a certified speech therapist. VitalStim is a method used to rejuvenate the swallowing muscles. Currently, the speech therapists at NOMC are all certified VitalStim providers.
