Hospital Leaders Unveil Facility Envelope Improvements, Facade Enhancements At NOMC

CRESTVIEW, Fla., 06/19/21 -- Officials from North Okaloosa Medical Center recently announced an exterior revitalization project underway on its main campus, located in the heart of Crestview, in North Okaloosa County.
Unveiled as the “Keeping the Promise” campaign, hospital leaders emphasized the project as a demonstration and reinforcement of NOMC’s long-standing commitment to enhancing patient, visitor and staff satisfaction, with a focus on ultimately delivering a remarkable patient experience.
“Studies have shown that the environment of care can have an impact on a patient's healing and recovery," said Joey Hester, interim CEO at North Okaloosa Medical Center. "We're here to heal, so a natural part of that is for us to invest in creating and maintaining vibrant, updated spaces that strive to ease the patient's journey."
Expected to be completed in the fall of this year, aspects of the exterior revitalization project will include functional improvements and waterproofing to the exterior envelope of the system’s hospital building, as well as fresh, modern aesthetic updates. According to spokesperson and public information officer for the system, Niki Bennett, the commencement of this project is a necessary step to ensure the long term viability of the building, while maintaining the highest quality standards for patients, visitors, and employees.
“We believe that North Okaloosa County deserves a health system engaged in meeting the needs of the people it serves," Hester remarked. "The entire network of healthcare services within the NOMC system is such an incredible asset to the area, as we continue to invest in our sites of care, we truly see it as an investment in - not just buildings and infrastructure, but an investment in our patients, our people, and our community."
In effort to limit the impact on patients, guests, and staff, work on the exterior revitalization project will occur in focused sections along the perimeter of the building. Hospital officials say this is also intended to allow work crews the ability to maintain the strictest quality control measures. Upon completion, the entire exterior envelope and facade will be like new, and as pictured in the mock-up rendering shown below.
