NOMC Scholars Program Nursing Education Assistance
Financial Assistance Program
NOMC scholarships' qualified expenses include tuition, books and fees. All funds will be distributed directly to the recipient, up to $5,000 per calendar year. Non-employees, as well as current staff members of North Okaloosa Medical Center, may apply. This program is limited to nursing students who will agree to employment with North Okaloosa Medical Center for a period of two (2) years after graduation with an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing. The work requirement would be three (3) years if the total is $10,000.
Eligibility Requirements
- Grades and test scores sufficiently high for admission to an accredited college. Factors such as GPA and scores on college entrance tests may be considered in the application process.
- Acceptance for admission at an accredited institution of higher education such as Northwest Florida State College or Pensacola State College.
- No "Pre-Program" students are eligible for funding. Award winners must be enrolled in a qualified program of study. No pre-requisite classes will be funded.
- Must show proof of acceptance or ongoing coursework in a qualified program of study.
- Agreement to publicity – internal and public announcements will be made identifying the winners as NOMC Scholars.
Selection Process
Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by nursing administration including the human resource director. The applications will be reviewed and an interview may be included. A separate application must be submitted for initial- and subsequent-year selection(s).
Work Study Option
Nursing students may choose to enhance the learning experience by working in a nursing-related capacity. Flexible work hours are available.
